Yes! You can ride in the Tearfund Poverty Cycle as an individual. It’s loads of fun. Click below to register
Entry Fee: Minimum fundraised amount of $200 per cyclist plus a fundraising target of $800 per cyclist. (claimable as a charitable donation with a 33% tax rebate)
You can cycle the course, take part on one of the stationary bikes at the hub, or if you can’t make it on the day, do your own virtual event. By taking part, you can exercise your passion for cycling AND help raise funds for some of the world’s most vulnerable and at risk children.
Elite Cyclists: Tearfund has again partnered with elite New Zealand athletes for the Poverty Cycle in 2016. This unique partnership benefits both the athletes and the vulnerable children. As Poverty Cycle ambassadors, these athletes will be identified by wearing a Tearfund Poverty Cycle reflective helmet sticker. When an athlete is sponsored by a member of the public, the funds raised will be split towards the sporting development of the athlete and to Tearfund’s projects.
Our hope is that their partnership with us will provide the funds they need to continue cycling and the funds we need to continue our programmes in New Zealand and the developing world. It’s great to see some of our brightest young athletes getting passionate against global poverty!
